	INFORMATION SESSION FOR THE YOGA HOLIDAY IN OAXACA, MEXICO ON SEPTEMBER 11, 3:00PM
	Learn more about this exciting and beautiful destination. Oaxaca (Wah-Ha-Ka) is a recently restored, lively colonial city (a UNESCO site) circled by mountains 500 km (300 mi) south of Mexico City. Oaxaca is a centre for cultural events and arts and crafts, with lovely public spaces and streetscapes, stunning museums, and busy colourful Indian markets. The fascinating archeological sites of Monte Alban and Mitla are within easy reach, as are craft-making villages and 16th century Franciscan monasteries. We will spend 3 nights in Oaxaca itself at Hotel Azucenas (www.hotelazucenas.com) exploring, strolling and people-watching in the Zocolo (main square), and market, gallery and museum hopping. Our retreat centre for 7 nights is Casa Sagrada (www.casasagrada.com), a gorgeous country setting 25 km (15 mi) outside Oaxaca in the famous textile-weaving village of Teotitlan del Valle. There, we will celebrate the Day of the Dead, a harvest festival when the dead are invited back to the family to enjoy the bounty. It is one of the major holidays in Mexico, unique and colourful.
